This art book publishing project covers Murray Zimiles’ paintings, drawings, and prints from the period 1964 to 2020. As the artist states in his beginning statement for the book, “This was a period when I found meaning in mythological themes, biblical and pagan. At the same time, in the same pictures, the props and materials of artistic creation play a distinct role.
The puzzle of illusion and/or reality, so fascinating to visual artists, is played with in the pictures involving mirrors, frames, doors, reflections, what is and isn’t made most “real” by being in color. For me there is a constant fascination with non-traditional uses of space, with how to show a non-static reality, with the psychological and emotional use of color as well as with color’s purely optical aspects.” At 328 pages, there is a lot to digest in this book. We are honored that the artist chose Dazzle Printing to print this for him.
