While Dazzle Printing prints numerous products, we specialize in booklet printing and other multipage printing. We ensure that we have the most up-to-date printing and bindery equipment. We offer reasonable prices, low print quantities, high quality products, numerous options, and outstanding customer service.
Consider these tips when selecting options for your booklet printing project:
You can print a minimum quantity of 25 booklets, and you can order in increments of 1 copy. So if you need 62 booklets, you can order 62 booklets. Per copy booklet prices decrease as the number of copies you order increases. We will ship a couple of extra copies with our order, although we can’t guarantee how many extras you will receive.
When determining the number of pages in your booklet, count pages like pages in a book. One sheet of paper with printing on the front and back would count as 2 pages. For multipage documents, we can print anywhere from 8 to over 600 pages. Don’t forget to include your cover in your page count. The cover is 4 pages — front outside cover, front inside cover, back inside cover, and back outside cover.
Color vs. Black and White Printing
Black and white printing is typically fine if most of your booklet just contains text. If you have a lot of pictures and other graphic elements in the book, consider color printing. Our reasonable prices make color printing feasible for most booklet printing projects.
Although we have four standard booklet sizes (5.5 x 8.5, 6 x 9, 8.5 x 11, and 9 x 12), you can print nonstandard sizes up to 9 x 12. Select the next larger size on our calculators when ordering a nonstandard size booklet. For instance, if your booklet is 8 x 10, use the 8.5 x 11 size when ordering. Also indicate in our notes section what the finished size of your booklet is.
While we offer four binding styles for multipage documents — perfect bound, plastic coil, saddle stitch, and wire-o, most booklets are printed using saddle stitch binding. With saddle stitch binding, we can print from 8 to 80 pages. If you have more than 80 pages, you will need to select another binding style. Due to the way saddle stitching is bound, you must order in increments of four pages. With saddle stitching, a large sheet of paper is printed with two pages on each side of the sheet of paper. The paper is then folded and collected with the other sheets. Staples are then placed in the spine of the booklet.
Paper for Inside Pages
Dazzle Printing offers a few options for paper stocks for the inside pages of your booklet — 60# uncoated text, 70# uncoated text, 70# gloss or matte text, 80# gloss or matte text, or 100# gloss or matte text. We typically recommend using lighter paper stocks as the number of pages increases, so the booklet does not get too thick and bulky. Our general recommendations would be to use 100 stock for booklets up to 24 pages, 80# stock on booklets up to 60 pages, and 70# stock on booklets over 60 pages. Consider requesting our printing sample package, which has samples of our four binding styles and samples of our paper stocks.
Paper for Cover
You can use the same paper for the inside pages and cover for a saddle stitch booklet. However, a lot of people choose to use a heavier cover stock to add durability to the booklet. We offer 80# and 100# cover stock for covers.
We offer lamination of covers for perfect bound, plastic coil, and wire-o books. We are not able to laminate saddle stitch booklets.
Hard Copy Press Proof
We offer hard copy press proofs of your booklet. We will print and bind the booklet using your specifications. A hard copy press proof costs $60 if shipped via UPS ground service and $100 if shipped via UPS overnight service. Once you see the proof, you may want to make changes to your file or to your order options. Just contact your customer service representative and she will assist you in that process.
